Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai Presented IEEE Activities in Pakistan at GCCC’22 in Conjunction with International Global Communication 2022 (GlobeCom’22) Conference, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 

Jamshoro, December 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai Presented IEEE Activities in Pakistan, precisely in Sindh and Balochistan at Global Chapter Chair Congress 2022 (GCCC’22) in Conjunction with International Global Communication 2022 (GlobeCom’22) Conference. The IEEE ComSoc GCCC’22 took place at IEEE GlobeCom’22 at Windsor Barra Hotel, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The purpose of GCCC’22 is to facilitate and encourage sharing, feedback, and networking among Chapter Chairs, staff, and ComSoc officers. The Chapter Chairs were from the countries like USA, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, UK, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Pakistan, and many others. Besides GCCC’22 meeting there was a networking dinner with the chapter chairs and a lunch with the chapter chairs and IEEE ComSoc Board of Governors as well.

Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai, Vice Chair IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, has presented IEEE Karachi Section in this Meeting. He delivered a presentation on the year 2021-22 IEEE activities taken place in different universities of Pakistan. He especially mentioned International Multi-Topic ICT Conference 2021 (IMTIC’21), IEEE Day 2021, IEEE Day 2022, Social events, membership drives, hands-on workshop on internet of things, visit to SoS village Jamshoro and many others.

He also discussed the recent launch lecture series of IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter, which he named as IEEE ComSoc Karachi Chapter – Distinguish Lecture Series. He mentioned the two-lecture series conducted by Prof. Klara Nahrstedt, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Prof. Amr Helmy, University of Toronto. The audience appreciated the work done by Dr. Umair Ahmed Korai in Pakistan, precisely in IEEE Karachi Chapter.

Dr. Umair also received a 2022 MEMBERSHIP AND GLOBAL ACTIVITIES CONTRIBUTION AWARD from the officials of IEEE ComSoc, i.e., Ana Garcia Armada, Vice President, Member and Global Activities and Ricardo Veiga, Director, Member Services.

MUET honoured with the visit of Honourable GOC Hyderabad Major General Delaware Khan 

Jamshoro, October 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Everyone highly acknowledged day and night efforts of GOC 18 Division Major General Dilawar Khan in recent flood operations On Wednesday 28th September 2022, Honourable GOC Hyderabad, and Major General Dilawar Khan visited the National Centre for Robotics and Automation-Condition Monitoring Systems (NCRA-CMS) Lab established at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology.

He was welcomed and received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Co-Principal Investigator NCRA CMS Prof. Dr. Tanweer Hussain Phulpoto, and Business Development Manager/Lecturer and President QS World Merit Pakistan Engr. Muhammad Zakir Shaikh of Mehran University.

GOC Hyderabad, Major General Dilawar Khan was briefed about NCRA-CMS Lab contributions towards bringing modernization into Railway sector of Pakistan by developing indigenous solutions for reducing the risks of accidents and saving human lives.

GOC Hyderabad, Major General Dilawar Khan was presented and briefed about various products developed indigenously. GOC Hyderabad Maj General Dilawar Khan appreciated and applauded the efforts of NCRA-CMS Team at Mehran University and stressed that every individual should contribute towards progress and prosperity of motherland with best of their abilities.

GOC Hyderabad Major General Dilawar Khan also visited US Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) where he was briefed about activities regarding solving water issues of Pakistan. He interacted with students and faculty members at USPCAS-W Auditorium where He expressed his deepest sorrow for flood affected region and talked about flood relief activities being under taken by Pakistan Army. In his brief talk, He expressed his thoughts on professionalism, character development and most of all, having compassion for the people around.

He emphasized on the technological development and its need for the progress and prosperity of our nation. “Seeing is believing and I believe I am looking at the future of our country and it’s very bright” He added. He also honoured students by answering the questions and emphasized that high self-esteem and believe in one’s self is the way to tackle every hurdle in life. All the participants were highly inspired and very much motivated by the speech of GOC Hyderabad Major General Dilawar Khan. Everyone loved the speech a lot.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry has been Awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz in Recognition of his Services for the Country on the Occasion of Independence Day

Jamshoro, August 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has conferred MUET alumnus and renowned figure of Pakistan Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry with the nation’s civilian honour, ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’ to recognize his monumental services for the country’s public and education sector, contributing to an already-lengthy list of honours, medals, and achievements for the person of his stature.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry is a Pakistani ICT Professional and an electronics engineer. He is the Distinguished National Professor, Meritorious Professor, Emeritus Professor, and former Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. He is also a member of the BOG Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council.

Dr. BS Choudhry’s academic journey and professional career make an inspirational story for not only his countrymen but for every person associated with academics, technology, or any other related domains.

He started his education at a school of Kantio – a small town of Thar. After completing his first degree in the Electronic engineering discipline in 1983 from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, he did Ph.D. in the field of Microprocessor-Based Intelligent Instrumentation from the school of Electronics and Computer Science University of Southampton, the UK in 1990. He has varied experience in diversified fields such as Electronics, Telecommunication, Microprocessor Technology, Internet of Things, Telemedicine, Wireless sensor networks, etc.

Dr. BS has also received a number of prestigious international awards and honours for his academic and professional work. The vice-chancellor, faculty members, staff, and students of the university congratulate Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry on receiving this honour.

MUET, Pakistan Secures 1st Position in International Unity 3D Competition

Jamshoro, August 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Faculty of Telecommunications at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria organized the CENTRAL Workshop including Training and Competition on Unity 3D for Interactive Content development as part of the CENTRAL Project Capacity Building and Exchange towards attaining Technological Research and modernizing Academic Learning in June 2022.

Besides all partner universities of EU Capacity Building in Higher Education Project CENTRAL, various faculty members, researchers, and students across the globe participated in the workshop and competition.

From 6th -9th June 2022, the Technical University of Sofia also Organized IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking at Sofia Technology Park in which many researchers across the globe participated and presented their research work.

On 13th June 2022, a meeting of partner Universities of the CENTRAL Project took place which provided a platform for different sectors to look for new initiatives and future course of action for defining project proposals for the European Commission funded project.

CENTRAL is aimed at enabling employability, internationalization, and interdisciplinary engagement of students and graduates, as well as research staff. From 14th to 17th June 2022. Training and Competition on Unity 3D was organized.

The workshop created an atmosphere for socialization among participants and on the popular happenings in the Digital World specially the importance of Unity 3D was the focus of attention the delegates from the USA Spain, Pakistan.

Thailand Denmark, Bulgaria, and India were also present. From Pakistan, two Universities namely Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro and Sir Syed University of Science and Technology Karachi were part of this training and competition. Winners receiving their award

Engr Muhammad Zakir Shaikh from Mehran University Pakistan secured 1st Position in this International Unity 3D Competition the second and third positions were secured by researchers from India, besides great networking sessions.

Various visits were also arranged for the participants including visits to High Tech Laboratories, departments, and visit to Sofia Tech Park. The Overall Objective of this event was to open discussions on innovation and its commercialization through a strong partnership between industries and academia as well as on modern practices and methodologies in crossmulti-interdisciplinary areas such as Unity 3D. Social science, technology. Business Canvas, and so on.

At the end of the event, certificates were distributed among all the participants. Furthermore, Prof Vladimir Poulkoy and Associate Professor Agata Manolova of TUS thanked all the participants for being part of this event.
