Seminar on “Kashmir Solidarity Day and remembering the Right of Self Determination” 

Islamabad, February 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Week, the Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA) of International Islamic University Islamabad in collaboration with Department of Politics and IR, Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS, IIUI, organized a seminar on “Kashmir Solidarity Day and Remembering the Right of Self Determination” which was held at Faculty Block-B Auditorium of the new campus.

Brig (R) Dr. Muhammad Khan, Professor of Department of Politics and IR delivered a key note speech on the topic, while Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Sargana, Students Advisor (Male), Officials from Directorate of Students Affairs and large number of students from Politics and IR Department participated in the seminar.

Addressing the students, Dr. Muhammad Khan precisely shared history of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Dr. Khan said that each year, Government and people of Pakistan celebrate 5th February as a solidarity day to show solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the cause of Kashmir. He added that the primary focus of this solidarity is the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who have undergone massive human rights violations at the hands of Indian security forces.

He said Kashmir Solidarity Day was celebrated in a changed environment where Kashmiris of IIOJK are still under detention and siege after India unilaterally and illegally changed its status on 05 August 2019. He told that this is yet another criminal act of the Indian Government, a violation of the UN Charter, UN resolutions and a serious violation of the Humanitarian Declaration-1948.

Dr. Khan urged the young generation to be awakes for the cause of Kashmiri people by using the weapon of social media highlighting brutalities of India security forces in the region at different platforms so the world can recognize the ugly face of nasty democracy of India where they are trying to undermine the voices of innocent Kashmiri people in the terrain since decades.

Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Sargana, Students Advisor (Male) who is also Assistant Professor, Department of Politics and IR, IIUI shared the eras of various war fares among students across the globe and highlighted the fifth generation war fare in which he briefed participants that how nations are being destroyed through hybrid war during the fifth generation war fare.

Dr. Sargana expressed the quote of Quaid-I-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for Kashmir people “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and no nation can allow its jugular vein to be held by the enemy”. At the end of seminar students asked various questions from the key note speakers of the seminar. The 2nd day’s activities of the Kashmir Solidarity Week ended with revived passion for Kashmir cause and slogans of “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan”, Inshallah.

Sports Activities commence amid “Kashmir Solidarity Week” at IIUI 

Islamabad, February 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with the activities of “Kashmir Solidarity Week” sports-drive commenced on Wednesday at the varsity’s new campus. A friendly tape ball cricket match between Kashmir Greens and Kashmir whites was played at cricket ground of the new campus. Parallel to this, table tennis matches have been played between players of different faculties of the male campus.

The purpose of all these sports activities is to show symbolic support with people of Kashmir and to strengthen their struggle for the Right of Self Determination. Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Sargana, Student Advisor Male, Officers and Staff of the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA) are supervising these Sports activities. The players, in their message showed support to the people of Kashmir and their cause.

Kashmir Solidarity Week at IIUI 

Islamabad, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Week, the Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA) of International Islamic University Islamabad has organized a number of student activities including declamation contests, debate competitions, essay writing, art exhibition, seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day, various sports activities including football, table tennis, cricket and volley ball matches.

Kashmir Solidarity Walk is also scheduled on Friday, February 11, 2022 from Central Mosque to Faculty Block I and II at the New Campus. On the first day of the Kashmir Solidarity Week, declamation contest and debate competition was held here at Auditorium Faculty block II. 08 Students participated in a declamation contest while they also exhibited their art related to Kashmir solidarity.

Addressing the students, Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Sargana, Students Advisor (Male), Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA) said that Kashmir is the prime objective of Pakistan and the whole nation will remain firm with the people of Kashmir till their freedom. On this occasion he also paid tribute to the courageous people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and condemned Indian militarization, atrocities, and human rights violations. He also contested the illegality of constitutional manipulations by the Indian Government that revoked articles 370 and 35A on August 05, 2019. The first day activities of the Kashmir Solidarity Week ended with revived passion for Kashmir cause and slogans of “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan” Inshallah.

Not hate but harmony needed for peaceful, stable society: Ahsan Iqbal

Islamabad, February 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 2nd Paigham-e-Pakistan Youth Symposium concluded here at Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) at Faisal Masjid campus. Ahsan Iqbal, former Federal Minister and Member National Assembly was the Chief Guest of the concluding session, while opening session of the symposium was chaired by Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI. The students from various universities from Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, GB and KPK attended this symposium. The symposium concluded with the recommendations from youth, these recommendations will be forwarded to the government of Pakistan.

Ahsan Iqbal in his address highlighted various challenges that are faced by Pakistani society. He was of the view that raising hatred in society must be addressed, while harmony must be promoted to build a peaceful society. Former Minister called for encouraging inclusiveness in the society. “We need to learn that how we can disagree in an agreeable way” he maintained. He opined that we need to be united on core issues so that Pakistan can progress and we can have bright future.

He was of the view that economic development of Pakistan will depend on social peace which cannot be achieved without rule of law. He was of the view that dialogue at every level is a key for peaceful coexistence. He also asked the participant youth of the symposium to work on discouraging hate speech.

Rector IIUI, in his address said these are high times to promote peace, inclusiveness and harmony in the society and Pakistani youth through latest mediums such as social media can do wonders to achieve these goals. He opined that there is a dire need to promote and propagate the message of peace and unity. He agreed with the recommendations of the young participants of symposium that curriculum should be a continuous process, while he also hailed Government’s steps for a revamped and single national curriculum initiative.

“We are living in the age of drastic changes, we cannot afford to be stagnant rather we must be well prepared to respond to the everyday changing challenges” said Dr. Masoom. He said Knowledge and skill with inculcation of Islamic values is must for Pakistani youth. He said that narrative of Paigham-e-Pakistan is vital for society as tolerance and peace lead to stability and prosperity. He urged the youth to adopt Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said His (PBUH) life is all about tolerance and peace. “We have no deficit of guidelines and values, Seerah is a comprehensive conduct of peace, tolerance and lover for creatures” he added.

Prof. Dr. Masoor Akbar Kundi, Vice Chancellor BZ University, Multan also spoke to the symposium. He said we must say no to Differences and yes to unity. He urged the youth to disseminate the Paigham-e-Pakistan’s message that he opined is all about Inclusiveness, peaceful co-existence and unity. He was of the view that rights of the our minorities must be protected.

Earlier, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, IRI welcoming the guests, he elaborated activities of IRI under Paigham e Pakistan initiative. He shed light on the special training programs in the light of the narrative. He stated that for these training programs, the Institute has prepared customize tailor made training manuals. He added that through these training programs, various segments of the society such as parliamentarians, ulema, Faculty Members, members of the civil society, and youth are trained on peace building, peaceful coexistence, and inclusiveness in the contexts of Paigham-e-Pakistan.

At the end, Prof. Ahsen Iqbal distributed certificates among the participants. Various parliamentarians, experts and faculty members such as Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadus Suhaib Chairman department of Islamic Studies Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Mr Khurshid Ahmed Nadeem, Dr. Muhammad Khan, Dr. Rizwan and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia Ul Haq DG, IRI were resource persons of the symposium.

IIUI Rector calls upon varsities to play Role for Kashmir Cause

Islamabad, February 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic university (IIU) has said that Kashmir Solidarity Day is an omen of recognition of the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir. The IIU Rector, in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, said the day is an opportunity to demand from the world that Kashmiris are waiting for their right of free homeland.

He said this is an occasion to reiterate our firm support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their legitimate struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination. IIU Rector said that role of universities is vital to highlight the cruelty of Indian forces on innocent Kashmiris. He said the IIU has been working through a dedicated Kashmir desk for research on the issue of Kashmir.

Dr. Masoom added that IIUI provides priority cooperation to the students who hail from Indian occupied Kashmir. The IIU Rector called upon the global community to play a role for the rights of Kashmiris. Rector IIU said that thousands of Kashmiris have lost their lives and thousands more are languishing in Indian jails. However, atrocities and humiliations have not deterred them from a cause cased on their legitimate aspiration of their right of self-determination.

Dr Masoom Yasinzai also appreciated the efforts of IIU President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi for supervising co-curricular and extra curricular activities in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day that will be participated by a number of students.

DG FGEI calls on IIUI rector

Islamabad, February 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General, Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) Major General Muhammad Asghar (HI) called on Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, International Islamic University (IIU) at his office here in new campus on Friday.

During the meeting, issues pertaining to promotion of education and broadening the exposure of Pakistani youth in terms of academic excellence and higher education were discussed.

IUI Rector briefed DG FGEI regarding IIUI’s vision, goal and services. He told that university is providing a peaceful and learning environment to the students of more than 40 countries. He also told him about the separate female campus dedicated to the female students. IIUI Rector reiterated his resolve that university will remain keen and open for the opportunities of cooperation that may lead to improvement in academic excellence and brighter future of the students.

Major General Muhammad Asghar hailed IIUI’s services and said that the university is well-known for its approach of study . He said the university is a hub of learning where youth may find guidance and education with the blend of Islamic values and teachings.
