Hundreds of young male and female performers continue rehearsal of Horse and Cattle Show Peace and Gymnastic events

Lahore, March 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Hundreds of young male and female performers continued the rehearsal of Horse and Cattle Show Peace and Gymnastic events at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan keenly watched the attractive performances of young performers during rehearsal of Peace and Gymnastic events. Director Staff Syed Omair Hassan and other officials were also present on this occasion.

The young boys and girls won huge appreciation from a large number of audience who were present at the National Hockey Stadium to watch the rehearsal. They also presented gymnastic, aerobic performances besides a grand peace show. Regional, cultural dances and national songs were also presented on this occasion.

The young boys and girls presented different situations of health emergencies, post-terrorist blast scene, rehabilitation and rescue of injured individuals in different emergencies. The contingents of all provinces also took part in March Past at National Hockey Stadium.

As per schedule, in the kabaddi event, the first match will be played between Balochistan and Punjab team while the second match will be played between KPK and Sindh at Punjab Stadium on March 9, 2022. In the Volleyball event, Sindh will face Balochistan, KPK will play GB, Punjab vs Sindh and AJK vs KPK on Wednesday.

Arrival of Australian cricket team after 24 years for a full cricket series a great development: Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti

Lahore, March 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti has said that the arrival of the Australian cricket team after 24 years for a full cricket series is definitely a great development and a good omen for the future of international cricket in our country.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti in a statement on Tuesday said that the successful holding of 7th edition matches Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore and Karachi has proved that Pakistan is a peaceful and sports-loving country.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti further said that top level security is being provided to the Australian cricket team. “The series against Australia, one of the best cricket teams of the world, would be a memorable one. Our administrative teams are making excellent arrangements for Rawalpindi and Lahore matches against the visiting Australian team”.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti informed that Pakistan will also host South Asian Games in 2023. “The preparations have been started for organizing South Asian Games in a befitting manner,” he added.

Punjab’s Boys U-17 and Girls U-16 table tennis trials to be held on December 6, 2021 

Lahore, December 06, 2021 (PPI-OT):Sports Board Punjab (SBP), on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, will conduct table tennis trials for the selection of Punjab’s male and female table tennis teams at Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Gymnasium Hall on Monday, Dec 6, 2021.

The players from all nine divisions of the province will take part in trials. After the trials, Punjab’s male and female table teams (7-member each) will participate in the Inter-Provincial Boys Under-17 and Girls Under-16 Table Tennis Tournament scheduled to be staged in Karachi from Dec 10 to 12, 2021.

Lahore, October 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said Punjab is ready to offer any kind of technical support to all provinces for nurturing their sports teams. “Being Pakistani, all the participating teams are our own and we will be happy to extend any type of assistance to any provincial team or their athletes for polishing their sports skills,” he expressed these views while talking to media at the prize distribution ceremony of Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 in Peshawar on Wednesday.

Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams with 129 and 103 points respectively, clinched the Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 in Peshawar on Wednesday. Overall, Punjab’s male and female athletics teams accumulated 31 medals in the grand event.

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. DG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khattak, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Camp Commandant Tariq Nazir, Waheed Babar and coaches Ijaz Abdul Khaliq, Allah Ditta Tahir, Ms Nasreen and Ms Sajida were also present on this occasion.

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani awarded winner’s trophy to Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh at the grand concluding ceremony. In his media talk, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh congratulated all members of male and female athletics teams, their coaching staff and team management for such a superlative performance.

He said it is the result of extraordinary hard work of our coaches and trainers during the week-long training camp. “We believe in merit and our focus is on grooming talented players and promotion of sports culture especially in far-flung areas of the province,” he added.

Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh was the chief guest during the last day’s competitions. He also awarded medals to top performers of different athletics disciplines. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh also had meetings with DG Pakistan Sports Board and DG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khattak on this occasion. The athletics teams of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also met with DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh.

Lahore, October 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab’s Under-17 Boys (16 medals) and Under-16 Girls (15 medals) athletics teams with 129 and 103 points respectively, won the Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 in Peshawar on Wednesday. Overall, Punjab’s male and female athletics teams accumulated 31 medals in the grand event.

After winning Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 with a wide margin, Punjab’s young athletes danced and celebrated their overwhelming triumph in a befitting manner.

In the Boys U-17 Athletics Tournament, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team with 92 points finished second where the third position was taken by Sindh athletes who scored 53 points. The athletes from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan had to content with 25, 13 and 4 points respectively.

Showing dominating performance, Punjab’s male athletes pocketed 9 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in the athletics meet. The second position team KP took 3 gold medals, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. The boys team from Sindh failed to win any gold medal. However, they managed to win 3 silver and 4 bronze medals.

On the other hand, Punjab’s girls won 6 gold medals, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals during the mega event. Girls from host province KP got 3 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals while Sindh female team clinched one gold and 4 bronze medals during the Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa girls accumulated 64 points to remain runners up while Sindh finished third with 42 points. Azad Jammu and Kashmir scored 18 points followed by Balochistan 12 and Gilgit Baltistan 4 points in the junior athletics tournament.

In the third and last day’s Boys U-17 athletics competitions, Punjab’s Majid, Mohsin, Sakhawat and Bilal won gold medal in 4×400 relay event. Punjab athletes Aman, Sakhawat, Mohsin and Majid also demonstrated wonderful performance in 4×100 relay event and obtained gold medal.

Mohsin also bagged gold medal in 200m race. The gold medal of 400m race was won by Punjab’s Majid Khan while the bronze medal went to Mohsin. Punjab’s Usman also excelled in 110m hurdles race and secured another gold medal for his team. Punjab’s M Hamza finished second and won silver medal in javelin throw event.

In Girls U-16 competitions on the third and last day, Punjab’s Amina, Momina, Fatima and Arooba won gold medal in 4x100m relay race. Punjab’s Sania and Arooba Fatime took silver medals in javelin throw and 200m race events respectively. In 400m race, Punjab’s Zara and Sana finished second and third respectively to win silver and bronze medal for their team.

Lahore, September 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, on Sunday, has announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh for ace wrestler Inam Butt, who won gold medal in World Beach Games Wrestling event.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will award the prize money to both Inam Butt and special athlete Haider Ali, who also grabbed a gold medal in discus throw event of Tokyo Paralympics in an impressive ceremony upon their return from abroad.

Lauding the performance of Inam Butt, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the entire nation is proud of your exceptional performance. “Really you have demonstrated wonderful performance against some top wrestlers of the world. Punjab govt will continue to make effective efforts for the welfare of talented sports players in future as well,” he added.
