Rawalpindi: Leaders of the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek Rawalpindi division, including President Allama Ataur Rahman Dhaniyal and other divisional leaders, have declared the demands of Tehreek-e-Labaik as fundamentally democratic and have urged the government to engage with the protesters through formal negotiations.
According to Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, the leadership stressed the need for the government to establish a committee to address the protestors’ demands promptly and to handle the situation with a democratic approach to prevent any potential violence. They emphasized that harsh measures against peaceful protestors could trigger widespread support for the demonstrators across the country. The leaders also advocated for solidarity with Palestinians by recommending an official ban on Israeli products, citing human rights violations in Palestine. They called for international action against the Israeli president for alleged human rights abuses and suggested that Israel be expelled from the United Nations for non-compliance with Security Council resolutions and International Court of Justice decisions.
The statement from the Sunni Tehreek Rawalpindi division highlighted a broader call for the Pakistani government to embody democratic values and respond to public grievances with openness and accountability. The leaders expressed a collective urgency for Muslim nations to take a more active stance in supporting Palestinian rights and addressing global injustices.
