Lahore: In a notable academic event at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, Dr. Marwa Zafarullah, a postdoctoral scholar from Stanford Medicine, delivered an engaging lecture on the development of precision biomarkers for brain disorders.
According to University of the Punjab, Dr. Zafarullah’s presentation, titled “Integrative Multiomics Strategies for Precision Biomarkers Discovery and Targeted Therapies in Brain Disorders,” detailed cutting-edge methods in biotechnology to improve diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) and other neurodegenerative diseases. Her discussion emphasized the significance of integrating various omics technologies to enhance the specificity and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in neurology.
The session not only shed light on the latest scientific advancements but also opened avenues for collaborative research between CEMB and international institutions. Faculty members, students, and researchers from CEMB participated actively, expressing keen interest in contributing to and expanding the scope of neuroscientific research.
