Stage Performance Shines at Regional Drama Festival 2025

Rawalpindi: A stage performance captivated audiences on the seventh day of the Regional Drama Festival 2025, organized by the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi. Under the guidance of the Minister for Information and Culture, Punjab, Ms. Uzma Bukhari, the festival aims to promote and revive the Philly Theatre in the province, providing quality entertainment.

The festival, which began on May 24, has been attracting citizens from Rawalpindi and Islamabad daily. The featured play, “Zamin Ka Qarz,” penned by actor and writer Syed Aslam Effendi Shah, paid tribute to the Pakistani army’s efforts in combating terrorism. The narrative centers on a soldier’s sacrifice, highlighting national pride and the honor of martyrdom.

Performers Sapna Shah, Arshad Khan, Shahzadi Khan, Anjum Abbasi, Waheed Minhas, Sajid, Imran Disco, and Hameed Khan delivered noteworthy performances. Muhammad Shakoor, Director of Arts Council, expressed gratitude to partners, emphasizing the Punjab government’s commitment to providing artists with platforms to display their talents.

The festival is scheduled to continue until May 5, 2025, with new drama teams presenting different stories each day.
