Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Secure Wins in Women’s T20 World Cup Warm-Ups

Karachi: Sri Lanka recorded their second consecutive victory, while Pakistan suffered their second defeat in the warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Sri Lanka outplayed Scotland, and Bangladesh triumphed over Pakistan in the latest round of warm-up games.

According to International Cricket Council, Sri Lanka defeated Scotland by 5 wickets after bowling them out for 58 runs, with Udeshika Prabodani and Sachini Nisansala taking two wickets each. Although Scotland’s bowlers made an early breakthrough, Sri Lanka’s Kaveesha Dilhari guided her team to a comfortable win. In the other match, Bangladesh overcame Pakistan by 23 runs, with Shorna Akter’s quickfire 28* and key wickets helping her side defend a total of 140/7. Pakistan, despite a strong position at one stage, could not chase the target, falling to 115/8.

Pakistan had previously lost to Scotland in their first warm-up match.
