Sindh University Celebrates Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with Grand Ceremonies


Jamshoro: The University of Sindh Jamshoro and its affiliated campuses across the region commemorated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with fervent nationalistic celebrations, marked by various patriotic activities. The central ceremony, orchestrated by the Bureau of STAGS, took place at the Hyder Bakhsh Jatoi Pavilion on the Allama I.I Kazi campus, commencing with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, hoisting the national flag.



According to University of Sindh, the event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the celebration. The ceremony featured a parade by the police and university security guards, speeches by children on the importance of independence, and tributes to Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Attendees, including deans, faculty members, and students, participated in large numbers, underscoring the community’s collective spirit.



In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kalhoro likened the significance of Independence Day to the joy of Eid, emphasizing the day’s importance as a cornerstone of national pride and joy. He highlighted the vital roles of national institutions and security forces in safeguarding and advancing Pakistan’s future. Dr. Kalhoro also stressed the pivotal role of education in national development and urged the youth to pursue diligent studies to contribute effectively to society.



The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the nation’s prosperity and a tree-planting event, symbolizing growth and sustainability, led by Dr. Kalhoro and various university dignitaries.



Simultaneously, similar festivities unfolded at the Dr. N.A. Baloch Model School on the Elsa Kazi Campus, Hyderabad, and other university campuses in Badin, Dadu, Thatta, and Naushahro Feroze, each echoing the themes of national pride and communal responsibility.



These events not only celebrated the historical legacy of Pakistan’s independence but also reinforced the university community’s commitment to fostering an enlightened and progressive future for the nation.
