Sharjeel Khan Fined for Dissent in President’s Cup Match

Lahore: Pakistani cricketer Sharjeel Khan, opening batter for Ghani Glass, has been fined 25 percent of his match fee for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) code of conduct. The incident, which involved dissent against an umpire’s decision, occurred during a President’s Cup One-Day 2024-25 match against Eshaal Associates at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Wednesday.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Sharjeel breached Article 2.8 of the PCB code, which addresses player dissent at an umpire’s decision. The specific incident unfolded on the first ball of the match when Sharjeel was adjudged caught behind off the bowling of Asad Raza from Eshaal Associates.

The charges against Sharjeel were brought by on-field umpires Imranullah Aslam and Ghulam Sarwar. Following the match, Sharjeel accepted both the charge and the fine imposed by match referee Kamran Chaudary.
