Shan Masood Upgraded to Category B in PCB’s Central Contract List

Lahore, In a recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has elevated Test captain Shan Masood from Category D to Category B in the central contract list. This move aligns with the PCB’s policy to upgrade the contract category of any centrally contracted player appointed as captain who is initially below Categories A or B. Shan’s contract will remain in Category B for the duration of his captaincy.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, The 34-year-old Shan Masood, who was appointed as Pakistan’s Test captain on 15 November 2023, is set to lead the team until the conclusion of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. Having played 30 Tests, the left-handed batter has scored 1,597 runs and is preparing for his debut captaincy assignment in the forthcoming three-match series against Australia, starting from 14 December.

The series schedule is as follows:

– 1st Test in Perth, from 14-18 December 2023

– 2nd Test in Melbourne, from 26-30 December 2023

– 3rd Test in Sydney, from 3-7 January 2024
