Islamabad: A one-day seminar focusing on social justice in Pakistan was held by the Regional Dawah Center (RDC) of Dawah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad, engaging lawyers and intellectuals in discussions on the integration of Islamic values and national law for societal improvement.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the seminar featured a series of presentations that addressed various aspects of social justice, underscoring the alignment of Pakistan’s legal framework with Islamic teachings. Renowned trainer and intellectual Nisar Musa Baloch emphasized the constructive use of existing laws to enhance society, highlighting Islam’s foundational concepts of justice and welfare which guide the governance of a welfare state. He articulated that no country could progress without a fair system and robust social justice mechanisms.
Dr. Syed Aziz ur Rehman, in-charge of the Regional Dawah Center in Sindh, elaborated on Pakistan’s constitutional foundations as an Islamic state, rooted in the Lahore Resolution and the principles of the Kalima e Tayibah. He detailed the contributions of scholars and clerics during Pakistan’s formative years, particularly their 22-point recommendation for the constitution which was ultimately integrated into the Objectives Resolution, aligning the country’s laws with the Quran and Sunnah.
Additionally, eminent jurist Sohail Baig Noori spoke on Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of justice, which he asserted was pivotal in establishing Pakistan as an independent state. He praised the dedication to truth and justice embodied by Pakistan’s founder, and he commended Dawah Academy for its initiative in organizing a seminar on such a critical subject.
The seminar concluded with the distribution of certificates and da’wah books to participants, symbolizing the academy’s commitment to promoting understanding and implementation of social justice through informed discourse.
