Islamabad: The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) celebrated the inauguration of the Pak-Thai Digital Innovation Lab (PTDIL) on July 24, 2024. This new venture, developed in collaboration with Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand, aims to foster innovative digital solutions for contemporary societal challenges.
According to National University of Sciences and Technology, the inauguration was led by Prof Dr. Pradorn Sureephong from CMU and Prof Dr. Ajmal from SEECS. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance international collaboration in the field of cyber-physical systems research.
The partnership between NUST and CMU includes the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to establish joint labs at both institutions. These labs will facilitate collaborative research, share facilities, and support student and faculty exchanges. Prof Dr. Pradorn Sureephong and Prof Dr. Rafia Mumtaz have been appointed to lead the labs at CMU and NUST, respectively.
The establishment of the Pak-Thai Digital Innovation Lab is expected to create multilevel linkages between the two universities, promoting the development of advanced technologies and fostering a deeper understanding of digital solutions in addressing global and local societal issues.
