Sargodha: Sargodha has achieved a voter registration rate of 61% of its projected 2025 population, exceeding the national average by seven percentage points, according to data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The figures reflect a larger trend influenced by specific census rules and migration patterns.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the data, derived from the ECP's December 2025 district-wise electoral roll statistics and the 2023 Digital Census, shows that Sargodha has approximately 2.8 million registered voters. Among these, 1.5 million are male, accounting for 52.8% of the registered voters, while 1.3 million are female, making up 47.2%. The district's overall voter registration rate is calculated by dividing the number of registered voters by the estimated population of 4,571,668 for 2025.

Sargodha ranks 10th in population size among 136 districts nationally and is represented by five Members of the National Assembly. In terms of voter registration rate, it holds the 18th position nationally and 11th within Punjab.

The above-average registration rate in Sargodha is attributed to two rules from Pakistan's 2023 Digital Census. Household members absent for over six months were not counted at their home address, and those living elsewhere were recorded at their current location. This affects Sargodha, as labor migration draws many residents to urban centers like Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad. Consequently, these individuals are still registered as voters in Sargodha based on their permanent CNIC addresses, resulting in a lower population denominator and a higher registration ratio compared to the national average.

Despite the strong registration rate, female voters constitute 47.2% of the registered electorate, indicating a gender gap of 5.6%. Continued efforts to promote equitable female registration are deemed necessary for ensuring balanced representation.
