Road Safety Awareness Campaign Set to Launch in Lahore

Lahore: In a collaborative effort to enhance road safety awareness, the Punjab Road Safety Authority and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore have announced the launch of the “Safe Travel, Safe Pakistan” campaign. The initiative was confirmed during a meeting between Dr. Ahmad Khawar Shehzad, Director of the Punjab Road Safety Authority, and Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore.

The campaign will kick off with a seminar on August 12, followed by a public walk. These events aim to educate the public on traffic laws and instill a sense of national responsibility towards road safety.

During the meeting, Dr. Shehzad commended Dr. Munir’s leadership at UET Lahore, highlighting his role in improving the university’s financial stability and achieving a record number of admissions this year.

Dr. Munir expressed his commitment to the campaign, emphasizing its importance as part of UET’s Independence Day celebrations. He noted that such initiatives are crucial for promoting safety and awareness.

Also present at the meeting were Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Tanveer Qasim, Public Relations Officer, and Dr. Zulfiqar, Dean of Student Affairs, who all supported the initiative.
