PUOWA Hosts Annual Sports and Family Festival at Punjab University

Lahore, The Punjab University Officers Welfare Association (PUOWA) held its annual sports and family festival at the Hailey College of Commerce ground, offering a day of competition and camaraderie for university officers and their families. The festival featured a range of sports, including cricket, tug-of-war, and athletics, highlighting the association’s commitment to fostering community and wellness among the university’s staff.

According to University of The Punjab, the event was graced by the presence of PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Principal of Hailey College of Commerce Prof Dr Hafiz Zafar Ahmed, Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, PUOWA President Dr Toqeer Ali, General Secretary Rana Muzaffar Ali, among other administrative officers. The cricket competition saw teams like Registrar Tiger, Old Campus Thunder, Controller Badshah, and IT Eagle vying for the top spot, with IT Eagle clinching the title by defeating Controller Badshah in the final match.

Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood emphasized the importance of sports for physical health and the role of such activities in enhancing work capacity. Dr Toqeer Ali reflected on the hard work of university officers and celebrated the festival as a much-needed break for fun and relaxation. The festival also included food and drink stalls, adding to the day’s enjoyment for officers’ families and children. The event concluded with Prof Dr Hafiz Zafar Ahmed distributing prizes to the participants, marking another successful edition of the PUOWA annual sports and family festival.
