Lahore, In a collaborative move to strengthen women’s rights, the Social Welfare Department Punjab has joined forces with MUSAWI organization by signing a Letter of Intent. This partnership is set to enhance support services for women across the province, focusing on legal aid, policy reforms, and improved shelter services.
According to Social Welfare Department, the agreement was signed by Director General Social Welfare Punjab Muddassir Riaz Malik and CEO Musawi Ms. Fatima Yasmin Bokhari, in the presence of directors and other officials. The newly forged alliance will facilitate a two-way referral mechanism that aims to offer comprehensive assistance to women, particularly regarding marriage rights and advocacy efforts for the enhancement of shelter and protection services at Social Welfare Department Institutions like Dar-ul-Aman and Dar-ul-Falah.
This initiative is also expected to elevate public awareness about women’s rights through active community engagement programs. The partnership signifies a progressive step toward protecting and promoting the rights of women in Punjab, ensuring they have access to the necessary support and resources.
