Rawalpindi: The Punjab Council of the Arts Rawalpindi recently hosted a Mehfil-e-Sherkhawani, showcasing the cultural richness of the Potohar region. The event featured performances by renowned Sherkhawan singers Hafiz Nasir Mehmood and Malik Chan Shahzad, who delivered compelling renditions of traditional Potohari music.
The performances were accompanied by classic instruments such as the Sittar and Ghara, which are integral to Potohari folk music. These instruments contributed to the distinctive sound and identity of the region’s musical heritage.
