Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a historic addition to the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) experience, with the introduction of full-match Urdu commentary for the first time in the tournament’s history. The new feature will be available throughout the upcoming HBL PSL X, scheduled to take place from April 11 to May 18 in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Cricket fans across Pakistan will now have the option to listen to live broadcasts in Urdu, the national language, providing a more inclusive experience that aims to deepen the connection with millions of followers of the sport. This initiative is expected to enhance fan engagement and allow for a more immersive experience of the league matches.
Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of HBL PSL, emphasized the significance of this development, noting that cricket serves as a unifying force in Pakistan. He expressed optimism that offering commentary in Urdu for entire matches would bring the excitement and energy of the league closer to fans nationwide.
The introduction of a separate Urdu commentary feed has been met with anticipation, as it promises to strengthen the league’s connection with the community and broaden its accessibility. Further details regarding the broadcast, including the commentary panels for both English and Urdu, are set to be announced soon.
