Lahore: The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 is nearing its playoff phase, with the teams battling it out across Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan. As the league stages draw to a close, the playoff scenario for each team has started to crystallize, setting the stage for an intense finish to the season.
According to Pakistan Super League, after the completion of 27 matches, only three games remain in the league stage. The competition has been fierce, with most teams still in contention for a playoff spot, except for Lahore Qalandars who are officially out of the race.
Multan Sultans have emerged as the front runners, securing the top spot on the points table with 14 points from 10 matches, making them the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Following closely are Peshawar Zalmi with 13 points, who have also clinched a playoff spot thanks to their consistent performance throughout the tournament.
Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators are currently holding the third and fourth positions, respectively, both with 11 points. Islamabad United’s balanced run rate and Quetta’s strategic wins, including a crucial victory over Lahore Qalandars, have ensured their progression to the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars have not fared as well. Karachi Kings, despite being fifth in the points table with 8 points, are now officially out of the playoff race following Quetta Gladiators’ win against Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars, the last season’s champions, have had a disappointing run, finishing at the bottom of the table with only 3 points after losing eight of their ten matches.
The final matches of the league stage will determine the final standings and playoff dynamics, setting up what promises to be an exciting conclusion to PSL’s tenth season. Fans and teams alike are looking forward to the culmination of what has been a highly competitive and eventful series of matches.
