PSL Collaborates with EY MENA for Comprehensive Asset Valuation

Lahore: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has embarked on a comprehensive valuation of its commercial assets, underscoring its commitment to transparency and sustainable growth. The PSL management has awarded the contract for valuation services to Ernst and Young (EY MENA), a prominent global professional services firm, following a public tender process initiated in July.

The valuation process is set to begin later this month and will span five weeks. EY MENA will engage with relevant stakeholders, conduct market research, and perform benchmarking exercises to formulate projections and valuations. The terms of reference, approved by the PSL Governing Council, include evaluating the fair market value of existing franchises, commercial rights such as media and sponsorships, and the valuation of title sponsorship rights and new franchise teams.

The effort aligns with the terms of existing franchise agreements, which are nearing completion, to determine the fair market value and renewal franchise fee for existing franchises.

Salman Naseer, CEO of PSL, highlighted the significance of this development, stating, “This valuation marks a pivotal step in the evolution of the PSL, which has cemented its place as one of the leading cricket franchises in the world. By engaging an independent global leader like EY MENA, we are ensuring absolute transparency and fairness in determining the fair market value of our franchises and commercial rights.”

He added that the process would provide current and prospective stakeholders with confidence in the league’s growth trajectory and long-term sustainability. Once the valuation report is reviewed internally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will make informed decisions to shape the league’s future.

The PSL remains a key component of Pakistan’s sporting landscape, promoting cricketing excellence and commercial success. With the upcoming renewal of commercial assets, the league aims to offer enhanced opportunities for investors, fans, and players.
