Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, visited the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) headquarters in Doha to enhance bilateral humanitarian collaboration and discuss regional humanitarian challenges.
According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the visit on Thursday saw Chairman Laghari warmly received by QRCS Secretary General, Faisal Mohamed Al-Emadi, among other officials. The meeting focused on strengthening the enduring partnership between the two organizations, with discussions on humanitarian issues prevalent across the region. Chairman Laghari expressed gratitude for QRCS’s consistent support, especially during the 2022 monsoon floods in Pakistan, and highlighted ongoing recovery efforts that reach millions.
The visit also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding to bolster cooperation in various areas, including disaster management and health initiatives. The leaders toured QRCS facilities, where QRCS’s global projects and training initiatives were showcased, emphasizing capacity building for disaster response.
