Islamabad: His Excellency Charles Delogne, the Belgium Ambassador to Pakistan, visited the National Headquarters of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Thursday, where he met with PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari. The meeting centered on enhancing humanitarian cooperation between Pakistan and Belgium and exploring joint initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Ambassador Delogne and Chairman Laghari discussed the bilateral relations between the two nations, with a focus on collaborative humanitarian efforts. Chairman Laghari outlined the PRCS’s response to the 2022 monsoon floods, detailing the organization’s efforts in providing shelter, livelihood support, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) assistance to affected families.
Ambassador Delogne expressed his appreciation for the PRCS’s role in disaster response and ongoing recovery initiatives, reaffirming Belgium’s commitment to supporting humanitarian causes globally. He praised the PRCS’s leadership under Chairman Laghari and highlighted the organization’s significant contributions to humanitarian work.
The visit concluded with Ambassador Delogne touring the PRCS facilities, including the organization’s library where he left remarks in the guest book. Chairman Laghari presented the ambassador with a copy of his book, “Dastan-e-Azam,” as a token of appreciation.
