Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed his deep appreciation to the people of Sindh for the party’s resounding victory in the recent local government by-elections. He congratulated the newly elected officials and praised party workers for their dedication and commitment, which he credited for the win.
In a statement released by the Bilawal House Media Cell, the PPP Chairman reacted to the by-election outcomes across 14 districts, stating, “From Karachi to Kashmore, the public has once again placed their unwavering faith in the PPP.” He characterized the win as a testament to the enduring connection between the people and the party founded by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
Bhutto Zardari affirmed that the strong support demonstrated in these by-elections has reinforced the PPP’s determination to serve the public with increased zeal and resolve. He declared that each vote for the PPP represents support for democracy, the rights of ordinary citizens, and a vision for a progressive and inclusive Pakistan. He pledged that the PPP will continue its efforts to bolster local governance and promote advancement in every community.
The Chairman emphasized that a robust local government system in Sindh has proven successful in ensuring fair resource allocation at the grassroots level, guaranteeing sustainable progress. He suggested that the PPP’s approach to local governance serves as an example for other provinces. He contrasted this with the situation in Punjab, noting that the province’s residents have been deprived of the advantages of an empowered local government. He argued that a functional local government in Punjab would have facilitated smoother relief efforts for flood victims.
Bhutto Zardari concluded by urging all political factions and citizens to collaborate in building a Pakistan where democracy flourishes and every individual lives with dignity and respect.
