Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) hosted two PhD open defense sessions at its Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy. The event, held at the Khawaja Fareed Campus, provided a platform for two doctoral candidates to present their dissertation research.
According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the first session was led by Ms. Asma Majeed, whose dissertation is titled “Fabrication and Characterization of Hybrid Nanoparticles for Controlled Oral Delivery of Paclitaxel.” Her research focuses on advancing pharmaceutical technologies to enhance the oral delivery system for the chemotherapy drug Paclitaxel. The session was supervised by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar, with Dr. Muhammad Ijaz serving as co-supervisor.
The second defense, presented by Ms. Anam Saleem, discussed her dissertation on “Preparation of Chitosan and ß-cyclodextrin Based Nanogels for Solubility and Dissolution Enhancement of Simvastatin.” This research aims to improve the solubility and effectiveness of Simvastatin, a commonly prescribed medication for cholesterol management. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar supervised the work, with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Usman Minhas as co-supervisor.
Both candidates successfully presented their research findings, contributing to advancements in pharmaceutical sciences.
