Peoples Party Accepts Karachi Election Results, Pursues Legal Challenges

Karachi, Asif Khan, Deputy Secretary Information of the Peoples Party Karachi Division and Convenor District East, announced the party’s acceptance of the Karachi election results for the greater good of the country, despite allegations of rigging. This acceptance comes alongside ongoing legal challenges, particularly concerning the recount in PS 97, where the party anticipates the success of their candidate Bashir Brohi.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Khan detailed the decision during discussions with a delegation from the PPP Karachi East at his liaison office, alongside Hakim Ali Jaskani and others. He revealed that while party workers were inclined to protest the alleged manipulations in various constituencies, including NA 235 and PS 98, 99, they opted for legal recourse on the leadership’s advice. This strategy includes presenting evidence of victory in NA 235 to legal forums and challenging the election results in court.

Khan also mentioned reaching out to international observers with rigging evidence, leading to external surprise at the electoral outcomes in Karachi. He stressed that despite these challenges, the party remains committed to public service in their constituencies and has opened offices to assist the public. With the anticipation of a PPP-led government in Sindh, Khan forecasts a new era of development, signaling the party’s resilience and continued focus on governance and public welfare despite electoral setbacks.
