Multan: A six-day advanced coaching course for regional cricket coaches concluded at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced. The program, organized by the National Cricket Academy's Coach Education and Development Department, aimed to enhance the strategic and technical skills of domestic coaches, featuring a comprehensive curriculum spanning 12 coaching domains.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, 35 regional coaches, including former Test cricketers Asad Shafiq, Naveed Ashraf, Shahid Nazir, and Zahoor Elahi, participated in the course, which ran from January 15 to January 20. The initiative was led by Shahid Aslam, Head of Coach Education and Development, alongside a team of experts including Rahat Abbas, Dr. Imran Abbas, Mohtashim Rashid, Umer Rashid, and Dr. Tayyab.

The program focused on equipping coaches with modern-day methods to nurture talent, emphasizing areas such as biomechanics, skill acquisition, strategic planning, and sports psychology. Other key components included advanced physical conditioning, performance analysis through video technology, and injury prevention. The course also covered emergency CPR procedures and sports nutrition.

Shahid Aslam highlighted the importance of the program, noting that it marks the start of an ongoing evaluation process. Participants will return to the NCA after a four-month implementation phase for a final assessment, with successful coaches receiving certification to further their careers.
