PCB Announces Comprehensive Women’s Cricket Calendar for 2025-26 Season

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board unveiled an extensive women’s cricket calendar for the 2025-26 season, promising a mix of international tours and domestic competitions aimed at bolstering the skills of women cricketers.

The season will kick off with the Pakistan women’s national team touring Ireland for a three-match T20I series in August. Following this, Pakistan will host South Africa for a three-match ODI series in Lahore as part of preparations for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held later in the year in Sri Lanka and India.

Domestically, the National Women’s U19 T20 Tournament will be staged in Karachi in September, serving as a precursor to the Pakistan U19 team’s tour to Bangladesh for a T20 series in December. The top performers from this tournament will participate in a skills development camp leading up to the Bangladesh tour.

In addition to these, the National Women’s One-Day and T20 Tournaments are scheduled to be played in Karachi during November 2025 and March-April 2026, respectively, with international players expected to participate.

The international calendar is packed with significant events, including Pakistan’s participation in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England, wrapping up the season in July 2026.

Rafia Haider, Head of Women’s Cricket, emphasized the strategic importance of the calendar, highlighting the balance between international and domestic competitions. She noted the intent to provide robust playing opportunities and exposure for the players, ensuring their readiness for global contests.

Further plans include a tri-nation T20 tournament in Ireland and engagements with Zimbabwe and South Africa as part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29.

The PCB is also exploring the introduction of a departmental tournament to further enhance playing opportunities for women cricketers in Pakistan.
