Karachi, The Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) has voiced strong criticism against the Sindh government’s approach to education, specifically targeting the alleged mismanagement of exam results and the broader implications for students in Karachi. Tariq Chandiwala, the chief organizer of the PDP in Karachi, emphasized that the students of the city are being unfairly treated and do not need the “charity” of grace marks, highlighting the urgent need for a re-assessment of the examination process.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, the recent controversy surrounding the inter-board examination scandal in Karachi has led to widespread distress among students, with reports of attempted suicides due to unfavorable exam results. The PDP alleges that the examination board’s practices of awarding marks without proper assessment and the provincial government’s negligence are jeopardizing the future of Karachi’s youth. The party demands accountability and calls for the arrest and punishment of those involved in the scandal, advocating for a fair and transparent examination system.
Chandiwala’s statement also addresses the perceived disparity between rural and urban Sindh in educational standards, accusing the Sindh government of fostering conflict by not aligning the education quality of rural areas with that of urban centers. The PDP criticizes the government’s approach as detrimental to the aspirations of Karachi’s students and calls for immediate action to rectify the situation.
The statement further questions the lack of intervention by prominent political figures, including Bilawal Bhutto, in addressing the educational crisis in Karachi. The PDP asserts its commitment to stand with the students until justice is served and urges the students to demand their rights rather than resort to extreme measures.
The Pasban Democratic Party’s critique extends to suggesting that the Sindh government deserves an “Ignorance Award” for its anti-education policies, arguing that such practices not only harm the students of Karachi but also cast a shadow over the future of education in the entire province.
