Parliamentary Secretary Syeda Marvi Rashidi Highlights Educational Initiatives During Visit to University of Sindh

Jamshoro: Syeda Marvi Rashidi, Member of Provincial Assembly from the Pakistan Peoples Party and Parliamentary Secretary for the Department of Universities and Boards, recently visited the University of Sindh in Jamshoro, where she toured several key facilities and lauded the university’s contributions to higher education under the support of the PPP government.

According to University of Sindh, during her visit, Rashidi explored the Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto Chair and Convention Center, the Institute of English Language and Literature, the Institute of Art and Design, and the Dr. MA Qazi Institute of Chemistry. She praised the state-of-the-art facilities at the Benazir Bhutto Convention Center, which was completed with a grant from the PPP government in 2011-2012, highlighting the party’s role in bolstering higher education infrastructure.

At the Institute of English Language and Literature, Rashidi engaged with students and faculty, emphasizing the global importance of English language skills and encouraging students to utilize the institution’s resources to enhance their academic and professional prospects. Her visit to the Institute of Art and Design showcased the university’s creative disciplines, where she admired the students’ artwork and underscored the significant role of arts in cultural and economic development.

The tour concluded at the Dr. MA Qazi Institute of Chemistry, where Rashidi expressed interest in the institute’s historical contributions to scientific research since the 1960s. She advocated for environmental consciousness on campus, suggesting increased tree planting to improve the campus’s ecological footprint and overall aesthetic.

Rashidi’s visit underscored the need for media to spotlight the educational and research achievements at the University of Sindh to set an example for other institutions across Pakistan. The visit was well-attended by university officials, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, who accompanied Rashidi throughout her tours, showcasing the university’s facilities and discussing future development plans.
