Seoul: Six Pakistani squash players have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in South Korea, displaying commendable talent and perseverance. The tournament, which spans from July 1st to 5th, has seen intense competition among young athletes from across Asia.
In the Boys U-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz from Pakistan triumphed over Tavneet S M from India with scores of 11-4, 11-5, 11-6. In a challenging match, Yusha Nafees of India defeated Pakistan’s Anas Ali Shah with scores of 7-11, 13-11, 11-3, 4-11, 11-5.
The Boys U-17 category saw India’s Subhash C win against Muhammad Umair Arif from Pakistan with scores of 11-7, 11-9, 13-11. Meanwhile, Nauman Khan and Ahmad Rayyan Khan from Pakistan excelled in the Boys U-15 category, defeating opponents from Malaysia and India respectively.
In the Boys U-13 category, Muhammad Sohail Adnan of Pakistan secured a win against Malaysia’s Mior E F A N, with scores of 11-3, 11-4, 11-5. The Girls U-17 category featured Chung Y L from Hong Kong overcoming Mehwish Ali of Pakistan in a competitive match.
Pakistan’s Sehrish Ali emerged victorious in the Girls U-15 category against Hong Kong’s Chiu H C, while Mahnoor Ali from Pakistan defeated Cheung H K M of Hong Kong in the Girls U-13 category.
The Pakistan Squash Federation has expressed optimism for further successes in the upcoming quarterfinals, hoping the athletes will continue to make their country proud.
