Islamabad: As part of an initiative to support low-ranking Pakistani squash players, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is hosting the inaugural Jansher Khan PSA Satellite Squash Tournament. The competition, which offers a prize pool of $1,000, is being held at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad from May 22 to May 26, 2025.
According to a statement by Pakistan Squash Federation, the tournament features a 32-player draw. The quarterfinals took place on May 24, resulting in victories for Saeed Abdul, Muhammad Ammad, Anas Ali Shah Bukhari, and Abdullah Nawaz. Saeed Abdul defeated Huraira Khan in straight sets, 11-2, 11-8, 11-2, within 20 minutes. Muhammad Ammad also secured a quick win against Abdul Basit Khan, 11-5, 11-1, 11-7, in 16 minutes.
Anas Ali Shah Bukhari faced a tougher challenge but emerged victorious against Sadam Ul Haq in a five-set match that lasted 51 minutes, ending 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 7-11, 15-13. Abdullah Nawaz defeated Khaqan Malik in straight sets, 11-4, 11-7, 11-6, completing the match in 16 minutes.
The semifinals are scheduled for May 25, with Saeed Abdul taking on Muhammad Ammad at 3:00 PM, followed by Anas Ali Bukhari against Abdullah Nawaz at 4:00 PM.
