Pakistan Peoples Party’s Women Wing Central President and Member Sindh Assembly Faryal Talpur’s message on the Black Day – July 5

Karachi, July 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Peoples Party’s Women Wing Central President and Member Sindh Assembly, Faryal Talpur has said that on July 5, 1977, a dictator attacked the Pakistan’s constitution, democracy, development and the national unity, adding that the nation is still suffering the consequences of that draconian attack over the democracy.

In her message on Black Day of July 5, she said that the Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto declared the people as a source of power, which made the anti-people forces afraid of him. Resultantly, after July 5, the Quaid-e-Awam, his family and followers were oppressed, which is unprecedented in the modern history.

She said that the determination and courage with which Shaheed Bhutto, the Bhutto family and the Jiyalas fought the atrocities is also unparalleled, adding that the dictator Zia is now a name of the poisonous thought, which must be uprooted at all levels in the society and the polity. She also said that the uprooting of a dictator Zia’s thinking is necessary for the supremacy of the constitution and parliament, the strengthening of democracy, the promotion of national harmony and unity and equality in the country.

She paid tributes to the Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for his pro-people ideology and unparalleled sacrifice, and also saluted to the Madar-e-Jamhooriat, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for leading a history-making movement against the dictatorship including those Jiyalas who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD) in Pakistan.
