NAGOYA: Pakistan's men's squash team secured a decisive victory over the Philippines with a clean 3-0 sweep in their opening match at the Asian Games 2026. The women's team faced a challenging start, losing to Hong Kong, China, also by a 3-0 margin.

According to Pakistan Squash Federation, the men's team showcased dominance on Court 2, with Noor Zaman leading the charge by defeating David Pelino in straight sets, 11-4, 11-5, 11-9, in a swift 18-minute match. Nasir Iqbal and M. Ashab Irfan followed suit, each winning their respective matches against Valentino Dalida and Jonathan Reyes with identical 3-0 scores, securing the team's victory in 20 minutes each.

In contrast, the women's team encountered a formidable opponent on Court 5. Hong Kong, China's Tse Yee Lam Toby overcame Mehwish Ali with set scores of 11-3, 11-8, 11-9 in 19 minutes. Chan Sin Yuk and Ho Tze Lok also defeated their Pakistani counterparts, Sana Bahadar and Mahnoor Ali, respectively, both matches concluding with 3-0 victories for the Hong Kong team.

Both Pakistani teams are set to continue their campaign with their second matches in the pool later today.
