Pakistan Cricket’s U19 Tournament to Launch with 110 Teams Competing Nationwide

Lahore: The Regional Inter-District U19 One-Day tournament for 2025-26 is poised to commence on Friday, with 110 district and zonal teams participating in 264 matches across Pakistan. The tournament, part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) pathways development program, will provide an opportunity for over 1,600 U19 players to showcase their skills.

The event will begin in Abbottabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Dera Murad Jamali, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Sialkot on April 25. For Quetta, FATA, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Larkana, and Hyderabad, the matches are scheduled to start on April 26, 29, May 2, 5, 10, and 15, respectively.

Faisalabad, FATA, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot regions will see district teams divided into two pools. The winners of these regions will be determined through a final match between the top teams of each pool. In the remaining 11 regions, the team at the top of the table will be declared the winner.

In an effort to expand talent scouting, the PCB has awarded playing rights to Khushab, Toba Tek Singh, and Lakki Marwat. This move aims to provide more opportunities to players from remote areas.

Top performers in the tournament will have the chance to represent their regional teams in upcoming U19 regional development academies and the Inter-Regional U19 tournament. The PCB plans to introduce an inaugural U19 Champions event, where the best talents will compete following the regional activities.
