Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the player selections for the upcoming white-ball tours in Australia and Zimbabwe. Key players including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah will return to the lineup for the Australia leg but will rest during the Zimbabwe matches. This squad announcement comes alongside the appointment of Mohammad Rizwan as the new white-ball captain, with Salman Ali Agha as his vice-captain.
According to International Cricket Council, the tours will kick off with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against Australia from November 4 to 10, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) from November 14 to 18. The team roster features several new and returning players across both formats. Notably, Kamran Ghulam, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Sufyan Moqim will make their debut on this tour, and a number of players, including Aamir Jamal and Arafat Minhas, will join the ODI squad for the first time.
The selection reflects a strategic mix of experience and fresh talent, with Rizwan set to participate in all ODIs and Zimbabwe ODIs but not the T20Is. Jahandad Khan and Salman Ali Agha are also making their first T20I squad appearances during the Australia tour.
Following the Australian matches, Pakistan will then proceed to Zimbabwe for a series starting on November 24, which includes three ODIs followed by three T20Is, concluding on December 5. All matches in Zimbabwe will be held in Bulawayo, with a blend of seasoned players and newcomers to ensure team dynamics and performance continuity.
