Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has designated Islamabad Club as the venue for the upcoming series between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and the Pakistan Shaheens. Scheduled for November, the tour features two four-day matches and a subsequent three-match 50-over series. This announcement marks the first tour of Pakistan by the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team, with the series commencing on November 11.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team will land in Islamabad on November 7, allowing them several days to train before the series starts. The first of the four-day matches will begin on November 11, with early morning tosses set for 9 a.m. PKT and play starting at 9:30 a.m. PKT. The one-day matches are planned as day-night events, with the toss at 1:30 p.m. PKT and the first ball at 2 p.m. PKT.
This series is part of PCB’s continuous efforts to nurture young talent, as the Shaheens engage in their second home series within three months, following a similar arrangement with Bangladesh ‘A’ earlier in the year. The Shaheens have also participated in international competitions in Australia and Muscat, reflecting PCB’s strategy to provide extensive exposure and competitive experience to its emerging players.
