Karachi: The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) launched its inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit 2025 at the Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) in Karachi. The summit, led by Pro-Rector of Research, Innovation & Commercialization, Dr. Rizwan Riaz, sought to foster partnerships focused on educational development.

The event was organized by the NUST University Advancement Office under the guidance of Director Advancement, Ms. Arooba Gillani, in collaboration with Commodore Mudassar Khurshid, Commandant of PNEC. It aimed to create a dialogue between academia, industry, and the development sector.

More than 50 corporate and nonprofit organizations participated, including representatives from IT, banking, and textiles, as well as entities like the Sindh Cricket Association and Pakistan International Airlines. The focus was on aligning CSR efforts with educational initiatives.

A key feature of the summit was a roundtable discussion on the theme, “CSR Spending on Education – Philanthropic Contribution or Strategic Investment?” The discussion explored strategic CSR funding and its role in national development through education.

The summit underscored NUST’s commitment to collaborations that support financially challenged students and promote quality education across Pakistan.
