Nurpur Lions Penalized for Slow Over-Rate in Champions Cup Match

Faisalabad: The Nurpur Lions cricket team faced fines for maintaining a slow over-rate during their September 22 game against the Engro Dolphins in the Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup, held at Iqbal Stadium. Despite the setback and a 16-run loss, the Lions have advanced to the playoff stage.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, each of the eleven players from the Shaheen Shah Afridi-led Lions has been fined five percent of their match fees. This decision was made under Article 2.22 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which addresses over-rate offenses. The penalties were imposed following observations from on-field umpires Faisal Aafreedi and Imtiaz Iqbal, who noted the team was one over short within the designated time.
