Islamabad: In a significant organizational meeting, the newly appointed Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society’s (PRCS) Balochistan branch, Abdul Wali Khan Ghibzai, met with the National Chairman, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, to discuss strategies for strengthening the branch and enhancing disaster response capabilities.
According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the discussion highlighted the central role of active branch networks in the success of PRCS and underscored the commitment to stabilize and expand the capabilities of the branches. The meeting took place at the PRCS National Headquarters on Friday, where the national and provincial leadership emphasized continued support and resource allocation to enhance the humanitarian services provided by the society.
Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari praised Abdul Wali Khan Ghibzai’s recent appointment, indicating it as a positive development for the Balochistan branch. He reassured that the National Headquarters would provide necessary technical support to the branch, continuing its tradition of timely responses to natural disasters and emergencies, as demonstrated during the 2022 floods in Balochistan.
Abdul Wali Khan Ghibzai appreciated the leadership of Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, noting the significant milestones PRCS has achieved under his direction. He highlighted the international recognition PRCS has garnered due to its visionary leadership, which he remarked is a source of pride. Ghibzai pointed out that the financial aid provided to flood-affected families in Gwadar was a historic move and emphasized that the National Headquarters remains a beacon of hope for the regional branches.
The meeting concluded with Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari presenting a souvenir to Abdul Wali Khan Ghibzai, symbolizing the ongoing collaboration and support between the PRCS National and Balochistan branches.
