Karachi: ZB Art Production organized a ceremony at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi to honor Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, for his cultural contributions. The event was attended by numerous prominent figures from the theatre community, including actors, writers, and directors.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the ceremony saw Director Zahid Shah of ZB Art Production present an award to Shah, recognizing his contributions to arts and culture. Shah also received Sindh’s traditional Ajrak from attendees, symbolizing respect and appreciation. In his address, Shah expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the ongoing success of the Public Theatre Festival. He reaffirmed the Arts Council’s commitment to supporting artists and making art accessible to all, mentioning efforts to bridge divides between different areas of the city.
Prominent attendees praised Shah’s efforts, with senior actor Nazar Hussain describing him as a significant figure in Pakistan’s cultural landscape. Younis Memon and Zakir Mastana commended Shah’s dedication to promoting arts, while Parvez Siddiqui encouraged increased theatre production to sustain cultural activities year-round. Zahid Shah emphasized Ahmed Shah’s role in raising the Arts Council’s international profile and noted the ongoing success of the Public Theatre Festival. Actor Adam Rathore highlighted the importance of family-oriented plays to encourage wider audience participation.
