Jamshoro: The Department of Textile Engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) has announced opportunities for paid research assistants. These positions are part of two significant research projects aimed at advancing textile engineering technologies.

According to Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, the first research project, funded by the HEC NRPU (Higher Education Commission’s National Research Program for Universities), focuses on the “Development of Antimicrobial Polypropylene Hernia Mesh Devices.” This project seeks candidates enrolled in their first year of a full-time ME/MS program in Textile, Biomedical, or Environmental Engineering. The position offers a monthly grant of Rs. 20,000 for a duration of 12 months.

The second project, supported by SHEC/SRSP/ENGR., is titled “Environment friendly coloration of cellulose fabrics.” It requires a graduate research assistant with a background in Biotechnology or Microbiology from the University of Sindh. This role also carries a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month over a 12-month period.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their CVs to Dr. Noor Ahmed Sanbhal, Associate Professor at the Department of Textile Engineering, by August 25, 2024. Selection will be based on qualifications and potential interview performance, with only shortlisted candidates being contacted for further assessment.
