Aamir Jamal Exits Pakistan Test Squad for Bangladesh Series Due to Fitness Concerns

Islamabad: Right-arm fast bowler Aamir Jamal has been released from Pakistan’s Test squad due to fitness issues, just days ahead of the upcoming series against Bangladesh. The decision was made after it was determined that Jamal needed additional time to recover from a back injury sustained earlier in the year.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Jamal, who had been included in the squad conditionally pending fitness clearance, will now spend time at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore to work on his fitness. The injury occurred during his stint in county cricket, and has necessitated a longer recovery period.

The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The Pakistan squad for the series includes Shan Masood as captain, with Saud Shakeel serving as vice-captain. Other team members are Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
