Mohammad Haris Named Captain of Pakistan Shaheens for Upcoming White-Ball Series in Darwin

Lahore: Mohammad Haris has been appointed as the captain of the Pakistan Shaheens white-ball team for their upcoming fixtures in Darwin, Australia, including two 50-over matches and a comprehensive T20 series involving nine teams from August 4 to August 18, 2024.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Haris, who previously led the Shaheens to victory in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, will again captain the team as they prepare to compete in Darwin. The Shaheens’ schedule includes 50-over games against Northern Territory and Bangladesh ‘A’ on August 4 and 6, respectively, followed by a T20 series starting on August 9 with teams like ACT Comets, Melbourne Renegades, and Perth Scorchers among the competitors. The squad has undergone seven changes from the red-ball team, introducing players such as Abdul Faseeh and Usman Khan for the white-ball format. The team is currently in Darwin, having already started their tour with two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’. This series marks the second consecutive year the Pakistan Shaheens will participate in the Darwin series, following last year’s matches where they faced mixed results in both T20 and one-day formats.
