Medicam Group Reaffirms Support for Karachi Cricket at Youth Tournament Launch

Karachi: The Medicam Group of Companies reiterated its commitment to supporting cricket in Karachi, as announced by Zahid Hussain Bhatti, the Executive Director of Medicam Group, during the inauguration ceremony of the Medicam Trophy Under-19 Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament at KCCA Stadium. The event marked the beginning of an initiative aimed at promoting youth cricket in the region.

Zahid Hussain Bhatti praised the Regional Cricket Association Karachi (RCAK) for its efforts in promoting cricket under the leadership of Nadeem Omar. Bhatti expressed the company’s long-standing support and dedication to fostering cricket at the grassroots level in Karachi.

Khalid Nafees, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, commended the unwavering dedication of RCAK officials, particularly Azam Khan, the Coordinator, whose services to cricket in Karachi he described as unforgettable. Nafees emphasized that the committee would continue its efforts in cricket promotion.

M. Touseef Siddiqui, the Tournament Secretary, acknowledged the contributions of Khalil Ahmad Nanitalwala and Junaid Khalil Nanitalwala at the grassroots level. He extended gratitude to various zonal officials for their cooperation in organizing the tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated by Zahid Hussain Bhatti, who hit the ceremonial first ball. The opening match saw Zone-IV Greens secure a victory over Zone-I Whites by one wicket in a closely contested game. Burhan Ali and Syed Mehdi were notable performers for their respective teams.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Azam Khan, Zafar Ahmed, Mazhar Ali Awan, and numerous young cricketers, underscoring the community’s enthusiasm for cricket development in Karachi.
