Lahore Qalandars to Face Islamabad United in PSL Opener

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to commence on April 11, 2025. The defending champions Islamabad United will play against Lahore Qalandars in the opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to Pakistan Super League, six teams, including Lahore Qalandars, will compete in the tournament. Lahore Qalandars have notably improved since their earlier seasons and have clinched the PSL title twice, in 2022 and 2023, making them the only franchise to achieve consecutive wins.

Shaheen Afridi will continue to lead the Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2025. The team has a history of playoff appearances and aims to enhance its title tally in the upcoming season. The Qalandars have played 94 matches across the league’s history, securing victory in 40 games.

The team’s fixtures include matches against Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi, with games scheduled in Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, and Lahore. The playoffs are slated for mid-May, with qualification and standings determining their participation.

The Lahore Qalandars squad for PSL 2025 includes notable national players such as Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf, alongside overseas talents like Daryl Mitchell and Sikandar Raza. The team is poised to compete strongly in PSL 10, aiming for another successful season.
