Karachi: Tariq Chandiwala, the chief organizer of the Pasban Democratic Party in Karachi, has issued a sharp critique of the city’s road conditions following recent rains, describing the situation as akin to “Khadistan” due to severe potholes and waterlogging. Chandiwala’s comments underscore a growing frustration among citizens with the local infrastructure.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, Chandiwala attributes the deteriorating conditions to the corruption within the PPP, the quota system, and the hiring practices in government institutions, which he claims are filled with party loyalists instead of qualified personnel. The recent rains have exacerbated the city’s longstanding issues with potholes, making many roads hazardous and leading to accidents and injuries among pedestrians and motorists alike.
Chandiwala emphasized the urgent need for immediate repairs to the most affected areas, including major intersections and roads across various parts of Karachi, from Safari Park to Sarjani Town. He argued that while complete reconstruction is necessary, the priority should be to fill potholes to prevent further harm to the city’s residents.
