Karachi: Pasban Democratic Party Karachi Chief Organizer Tariq Chandiwala has criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party’s governance, attributing the city’s deteriorating infrastructure to poor management. Chandiwala stated that Karachi, once known as the “city of lights,” has become a “city of pits,” with its roads in a state of disrepair exacerbated by ongoing projects like Sui gas lines and the Green Bus.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, the neglect has led to a rise in respiratory diseases due to dust and increased accidents caused by potholes and broken roads. Chandiwala questioned the allocation and use of development funds, suggesting that billions of rupees announced annually are mismanaged. He urged both the incoming Chief Minister and Mayor of Karachi to prioritize road repairs and implement a comprehensive plan to address the city’s challenges.
