Karachi Residents Suffer from Severe Load Shedding and Overbilling, Claims Pasban Democratic Party

Karachi: Vice Chairman Abdul Hakim Quaid of the Pasban Democratic Party has called for immediate action to address severe electricity load shedding in Bhat Shah, criticizing the Sindh government and local utility providers for exacerbating the financial and social strain on residents. The party claims that extended power outages combined with inflated electricity bills are driving unfair economic burdens on the populace.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, the ongoing situation in Bhat Shah involves up to 16 days of continuous load shedding orchestrated by K Electric, which Quaid describes as a deliberate move to destabilize the public and harm the local economy. The party further alleges that K Electric has engaged in corrupt practices by replacing copper wires with aluminum, a change that not only pilfers national resources but also increases the financial load on consumers through the installation of rapid electronic meters and subsequent overbilling.

The statement also accuses the Sindh government of failing to supply adequate electricity while issuing hefty bills, pushing residents towards a regressive lifestyle akin to the “stone age.” The severity of the situation is said to be crippling business activities and amplifying the distress caused by rising inflation and unemployment in the region.
