Jamia Poonch to Enhance Sports Facilities, Including New International Sports Complex and Swimming Pool

Rawalkot: Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Poonch, Professor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir, announced plans to develop a robust sports infrastructure at the university, including a new international sports complex and a community-supported swimming pool. This initiative is aimed at fostering a holistic environment where education and physical activities complement each other, enabling students to tackle life’s challenges effectively.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the Pearl Marathon race, where Dr. Zakir highlighted the importance of sports in cultivating an active lifestyle among students. The construction of these facilities is part of a broader strategy to engage students in positive activities and counter negative trends such as drug use and excessive internet consumption.

The new sports infrastructure will feature not only the international sports complex and swimming pool but also specialized indoor sports facilities for women at the Tarar campus.
