Islamia University to Host Ph.D. Defense of Geography Scholar Adila Shafqat

Bahawalpur: The Islamia University’s Department of Geography is set to host the public defense and viva voce examination for Ms. Adila Shafqat, an Assistant Professor at the university, on her Ph.D. dissertation entitled “Accessibility and Socio-Ecological Connectivity across Urban Green Spaces and Peri-Urban National Park: A Case of Bahawalpur City, Pakistan.” The event will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the Masaud A. Mian RS and GIS Lab.

According to University of the Punjab, Ms. Shafqat has conducted her research under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Safdar Ali Shirazi, former director of PU’s Institute of Geography. The defense presentation will provide a platform for discussing her findings on the integration and accessibility of urban green spaces and the socio-ecological implications for Bahawalpur City.
